Shepherd University seeks to hire a tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry. The position is expected to begin August 2025. Teaching responsibilities will include organic chemistry and lab as well as general chemistry and lab and others as assigned. The position will be expected to, in addition to teaching duties, establish an independent research program that is suitable for undergraduate science majors; publish in peer-reviewed journals and attend professional development conferences and activities; serve on committees and other community service; and advise academic students in the major. The candidate should have a Ph.D. with expertise in organic, polymer, or medicinal chemistry although individuals working towards a Ph.D. may be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level, postdoctoral experience, and/or experience mentoring undergraduate research students.
