Well established area general contractor seeking a self-driven, highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to serve as an Assistant Project Manager for our fast pace general contracting company team. The assistant project manager is responsible for providing varying levels of support to the Project Management Team. Once hired, this individual will work in tandem with project managers to get a feeling for the firm as well as our projects. This job is located in Chesapeake, VA. (*We will not pay to relocate you if you are applying from out of town*)
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Solicit/Contact subcontractors as needed for individual projects
• Price out storage containers, dumpsters, equipment, etc. for individual projects
• Travel to local projects to collect information for bidding team
• Assist project managers on local and some out of town projects as needed (including overnight travel for up to a week)
Qualifications:
• Highly organized and able to work independently
• 5 years minimum construction experience
• Microsoft Office abilities are a must
• Ability to understand blueprints and specs needed
• Mac operating systems experience is a plus
• Spanish speaking a plus
