Job Description

HCSS, a 15-time "Best Company to Work For in Texas" software company in Sugar Land is searching for a Business Analyst Intern to join our Development Team! This is a PAID internship where you will gain in-depth skills in our tech stack that will take you further to success. You will make an impact by contributing to our product teams to deliver high-quality software applications to our customers.

  • You're currently enrolled in an accredited college/university and able to commute to our office during your internship.

  • You're detail-oriented, a problem solver, and a logical thinker.
Your daily activities will include:
  • Learn about Power BI and Power BI report builders.
  • Work together with our product team to refine the customer's requirements, clarify questions, and validate the report's design.
  • Team up with our development team to understand the data structures of our different products and how you can leverage them to build the reports needed by our customers.
Your responsibilities will be:
  • Design reports to meet our customers's needs.
  • Develop these reports using Power BI and/or Power BI report builders.
  • Perform data quality checks to validate the accuracy of the reports.
  • Implement fixes and improvements to the reports based on the feedback from our product team.
Qualifications:
  • Analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, specifically writing performant queries.
  • Experience with data visualization.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and/or Microsoft Power BI Report Builder.
Here's what to expect:
  • This internship is semester-based and we'll work around your school schedule. For the Summer Break, you can work up to 40 hours a week. During the Fall/Spring semesters, you can work up to 25 hours a week.
  • Training and mentoring will be provided and you'll receive feedback on your performance regularly. You'll have numerous opportunities to continuously grow your knowledge base.
