Job Description
The Business Performance Analytics (BPA) Director leads the capability and application of understanding our consumers, business and trends across General Mills. A strong knowledge of syndicated and panel data and vendors as well as the ability to derive insights and influence decisions and actions using that data is critical for the role. The BPA Director leads a team that provides analytics and insight across the entire organization - from individual business teams to executive leaders and investor relations.
The role requires strong thought leadership, strong communication and storytelling skills, collaboration across functions at all levels to ensure a cohesive, data-driven approach to understanding our business and decision-making. The ability to build credibility and influence across the organization and especially with senior leadership is a critical factor for success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
3rd Party Data Strategy, Management, Reporting and Training Manage relationships with key data vendors including syndicated movement, consumer panel and retailer data sets including agreements/cost, process and usage standards
Own process for data hierarchy management, integration and dispersion across General Mills
Create, Evolve and Own process for sustainable and routine reporting and analysis of data on a weekly and monthly basis
Train business teams and users on ways of working and analytic methodology to ensure single source of truth and usage of data consistent across company, segments and business teams
Lead Business Diagnostics and Recommendations across General Mills Lead team of direct and dotted line experts accountable for day-to-day diagnosis of business trends and recommended actions to improve business
Own segment level diagnosis and recommendations on macro business trends and forces to drive broad actions and strategic direction of business plans
Lead special projects to assist in meaningful business issue and opportunity diagnosis and recommendations
Influence and Drive Action across Business Teams through Data Driven Storytelling Impact decision making across segments and business teams through data driven storytelling
Train and develop influence and data driven storytelling ability of experts to ensure diagnosis and recommendations are easily understood and executed by business teams
Partner with other experts to ensure holistic data driven storytelling and influence with single source of truth and consistent recommendations
Develop New Analytic Capabilities to Support Evolving Industry Integrate new facts and sources into data sources and routine reporting and analytics approach
Lead subject matter expertise and input into new technology and capability advancements to enhance our analytic approach and tools
Lead Senior Executive, Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Investor Relations Support Provide business and market understanding for senior leadership and board of directors to drive strategic choices and direction
Prepare senior leadership and investor relations team for quarterly earnings calls and external analyst or investor engagements
Support Strategy and M&A teams in understanding of industry, choices and opportunities both internally and externally
Lead as key member of Insights and Analytics leadership team made up of cross functional peers and partners to continue to lead and advance General Mills analytic capabilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Market Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or other related field
10+ years experience in Consumer Packaged Goods with an analytics background
Experience evolving and transforming business diagnostics capabilities and integrating advancements in technology
Experience with application of AI as it applies to analytic processes
Strong leadership skills including demonstrated thought leadership and the ability to influence through effective storytelling
Experience navigating complex & matrixed organizations
Multiple assignments working directly with cross functional business teams
Experience leading a team
Ability to build and grow strong external partnerships with key vendors to co-develop new solutions for analytics and capabilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA or Master's Degree in related field preferred
15+ years experience in Consumer Packaged Goods with an analytics background
Experience at a syndicated or panel data vendor/provider

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $203500.00 - $305500.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
