Second shift includes a $1.50/hr. shift premium. Position SummaryOur company is looking for a highly talented Fabricator/Welder to join our team. The Fabricator/Welder plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, responsible for fabricating and welding metal components and structures according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. This role requires a skilled professional with expertise in metal fabrication techniques, welding processes, and equipment operation. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, including proficiency in welding procedures and metalworking tools, along with a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork in a manufacturing environment. Duties & ResponsibilitiesInterpret blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and proceduresDetermine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirementsSet up components for welding according to specifications (i.e., cut material with powered saws to match measurements)Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be weldedAlign components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp piecesWeld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gapsTest and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flawsMaintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safetyPerform other duties as assigned Requirements Positive attitude and respect fellow employeesAbility to perform well as a teamSelf-motivator and must be flexible to accommodate needs of your teamSafety minded when performing taskAbility and willingness to learn and be trainedOutstanding attention to detailEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent certificationA minimum of 2 years' experience as a welderExperience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.) Must have own face-shield5S is a plusAbility to read and interpret blueprints and designsSuccessful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is requiredProfessional Certification (i.e., an AWS welding certificate) will be a plusPhysical DemandsPerforming physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, hands, fingers, legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, handling of materials, and operating machinery.Perform repetitive motions using your hands and fingers such as, but not limited to, grasping, gripping, and holding.Carrying & lifting 10 - 50lbs. frequently
