Main Responsibilities:

The US Field Medical Director, Autoimmune T1D, will contribute to developing and executing the medical and scientific strategy for T1D in the US. This is a field role focused on external engagement.

External Stakeholder Engagement (60%)

• Support the development and execution of medical external engagement strategies and tactics for the T1D country stakeholder medical road map and regional/territory road maps.
• Act as a scientific subject matter expert, maintaining world-class competency in the field.
• Establish and foster strategic relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), professional societies, T1D advisory bodies, and patient advocacy groups.
• Utilize scientific expertise to support decision-making with external groups involved in T1D policy at the national level and strategic accounts (health systems, pharmacy chains, public health units, etc.).
• Collaborate with Medical Value and Outcome Liaisons, Medical Science Liaisons, and Population Health Strategists during external engagements, providing scientific expertise on T1D and franchise-specific products.

Data Generation (15%)

• Contribute to the global franchise integrated Evidence Generation Plan (iEGP) in collaboration with Home-Office Medical Directors.
• Discuss the iEGP strategy with external experts for validation and insights.
• Foster collaborations with external partners to achieve research goals aligned with the iEGP.
• Work with Home Office Medical Directors, Global Medical, and R&D to conduct epidemiological studies and clinical trials in the US.
• Participate in publications as an expert and author following ICME criteria.

Strategy (15%)

• Support the development and execution of external medical engagement strategies for the T1D franchise.
• Serve as a North/South Medical expert for strategic and tactical planning within the T1D franchise.

Internal Collaboration/Communication (10%)

• Provide scientific expertise to internal stakeholders.
• Train the field-based medical team on current and new publications and assets, in collaboration with Home Office Medical Directors.

About You

Requirements:

• MD degree required.
• Endocrinology background with T1D screening experience required.
• Relevant industry experience in Type I Diabetes/Immunology for over 5 years.
• Customer-facing experience or related industry experience over 5 years required.
• Fluency in spoken and written English required.
• Ability to identify critical tasks and resources to achieve objectives and execute strategies required.
