Job Title: Fleet Manager Salary: $1,500 - $2,000 per week Job Overview The Fleet Manager is responsible for coordinating and executing daily fleet maintenance activities to ensure the efficient and safe operation of equipment. Office Hours Monday to Friday: 8 AM - 6 PM Saturday: 8 AM - 1/2 PM Availability outside office hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required for emergencies. You must be available 24/7 for critical events. Core Functions & Responsibilities Manage department performance, including profitability and efficiency. Coordinate inspection, maintenance, and repair of fleet equipment. Maintain vehicle files and records. Monitor damages and provide repair estimates promptly. Collaborate with operational departments. Manage fleet warranties, PM schedules, and repair records. Communicate with operations and dispatch regarding truck availability and downtime. Assist in driver road tests with recruiting. Build strong relationships with internal teams and drivers. Monitor and improve driver and fleet performance. Prepare weekly and monthly maintenance and efficiency reports. Recommend equipment purchases and sales based on utilization and maintenance records. Work with HR to hire staff and provide training. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized operating facility. Develop policies, solve problems, and suggest improvements. Maintain a professional and disciplined work environment. Implement training and development programs. Ensure fleet organization and orderliness. Set and enforce departmental goals and targets. Qualifications & Skills At least 2 years of shop management experience. At least 2 years of heavy-duty mechanic experience. Knowledge of common truck and trailer mechanical issues. Expertise in Class 8 truck drivetrains and diagnostics, including electrical, hydraulic, and structural systems. Professional attitude and team-oriented approach. Ability to follow instructions accurately. Work well under pressure and multitask efficiently. High School Diploma or college degree. Strong communication, coaching, and mentoring skills. Class A Commercial Driver’s License. Ability to pass Pre-Trip Inspection.
