Base pay range $85,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr Fuchsia Services Inc, DBA Fushiaa, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Informatics Project Manager to support the State of Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) in advancing public health informatics initiatives. This role will focus on managing and enhancing electronic health data systems, including Electronic Laboratory Reporting (ELR), Electronic Case Reporting (eCR), and Syndromic Surveillance (Sys). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health IT, data science, and project management, with a passion for improving public health outcomes through technology and innovation. Key Responsibilities Project Management: Oversee the implementation of health informatics projects, ensuring timely delivery, resource allocation, and adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget. Technical Expertise: Provide guidance on health IT and informatics, including ELR, eCR, and Sys, to improve data quality, interoperability, and public health surveillance. Capacity Building: Train and support DOH staff and healthcare providers in leveraging health IT tools and systems for improved public health outcomes. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal DOH teams, external vendors, federal agencies (e.g., CDC, ONC), and national organizations (e.g., NACCHO, APHL) to achieve project goals. Data Quality & Reporting: Develop and maintain data quality frameworks, audit criteria, and reporting metrics to ensure accuracy and completeness of health data. Policy & Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and CMS Promoting Interoperability requirements. Innovation & Research: Stay updated on emerging trends in health IT and informatics, and integrate promising practices into project deliverables. Qualifications Required: Education: Masters degree in Epidemiology, Informatics, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in health IT, informatics, or data science within a public health or healthcare setting. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SQL database queries, and data visualization tools. Knowledge: Strong understanding of public health informatics, ELR, eCR, Sys, and RCKMS authoring mechanisms. Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills. Ability to work independently and manage complex assignments. Preferred: Experience with electronic health record (EHR) vendors, Health-Level 7 (HL7), or public health information systems. Familiarity with state/territorial or local health agency operations. Systems development, programming, or technical design experience. Working Conditions Must be located in Hawaii. Occasional travel to neighbor islands or the mainland may be required for conferences or meetings. Work hours: 7:45 AM 4:30 PM HST, with availability for timely communication. Why Join Us?
