Position Function:

Oversees, manages, and improves the Bank's Marketing compliance function in accordance with the Bank's Compliance Management System (CMS), for the purpose of ensuring the Bank's compliance with all federal and state laws, rules, and regulations, the Bank's internal policies and procedures, and industry, ethical, or fiduciary practices or standards, as applicable. Leads and manages the Bank's Marketing compliance under the direction of the Chief Marketing Officer with a dotted line reporting to the Director of Compliance. Communicates, promotes, and reinforces a strong and proactive culture of compliance management. Performs all duties and interacts with internal and external customer as well as outside legal counsel when necessary, in a manner aligned with the Company’s Core Values.

Primary Accountabilities:

Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Compliance Program Development and Maintenance (Compliance-related Policies, Procedures, and Resources).
  • Marketing Material Compliance Review and Approval.
  • Disclosure Change Management.
  • Training, Monitoring, and Issue Resolution.
  • Strategic Partnership and Advisory – Ensure appropriate compliance considerations for products, services, and vendors, and consult Corporate Compliance Department, Legal Department, outside counsel, and/or others, as appropriate.
  • Represent Marketing during Examinations and Audits.

Compliance Knowledge:

  • Responsible for having and maintaining a solid understanding of all consumer protection laws and regulations that affect the Bank and its business operations and keeping abreast of any regulatory changes.

Secondary Accountabilities:

  • Knowledge of and compliance with the state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, and the bank’s policies and procedures, affecting the employee’s job duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act and related requirements, the lending, deposit, and other consumer protection regulations, and industry, ethical or fiduciary practices or standards, as applicable.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED equivalency required

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year university, preferably in Business preferred.

Experience:

7+ years’ experience of bank compliance, audit, examination, legal, information technology, data analysis, and/or community outreach experience required.

Project management experience preferred.

Substitution of education for experience is allowed at Associate's and 6+ years, Bachelor's and 5+ years, or Master's and 4+ years.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.

Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.

Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.

Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.

Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
