Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. The Infrastructure GlobalBusiness Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects. As the #1 LNG EPC contractor by installed capacity, Bechtel has the capability to successfully deliver a broad range of LNG projects through our integrated EPC self-perform model, strategic partnerships, and proven experience in LNG project delivery. The Night Shift Bull Rigging Superintendent is responsible for supervising and directing bull rigging operations during night shifts, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of all rigging activities. This role oversees the rigging discipline, manages cranes & rigging craft, and provides leadership to subordinate supervisors. Additionally, the superintendent is responsible for equipment management, ensuring proper execution of critical and general risk bull rigging activities, and carrying out other assigned responsibilities as required. #LI-TH1
Provide ES&H leadership for assigned personnel, ensuring implementation of safety procedures and conducting Bechtel and subcontractor safety meetings.
Ensure all crane and rigging operations meet Bechtel procedures, OSHA standards, and all regulatory and project requirements.
Oversee night shift bull rigging operations for full compliance with safety and project standards.
Prepare, engage, and maintain Bull Rigging Plans, FLHA Cards, JHAs, and Lift Plans.
Verify personnel qualifications, training, and compliance with applicable standards and safe work practices.
Inspect work areas for unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions.
Confirm proper selection, inspection, and use of rigging equipment and hardware before operations.
Troubleshoot rigging challenges, update plans as needed, and apply best practices for efficiency.
Remove and document defective equipment for repair or replacement.
Plan and manage manpower, equipment, and material resources for night shift rigging.
Coordinate with Labor Relations on recruitment and training, and with Procurement on rigging tool requisitions.
Prepare progress reports, forecasts, personnel records, and shift handover reports.
Optimize workflows to meet project schedules while maintaining safety standards.
Review and approve subcontractor equipment and personnel mobilization/demobilization.
Monitor craft activities for compliance with specifications and schedules.
Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs for cranes and rigging personnel.
Review craft time records using established tools and perform other duties as assigned.
Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
