Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to oversee and manage our Maintenance, Shipping & Receiving, Packaging, and Logistics departments. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with food safety and regulatory standards, and driving overall cost-effectiveness across the facility. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a track record of optimizing workflows, motivating teams, and implementing sustainable improvements in a high-speed manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (OSHA, FDA, USDA, etc.). Manage relationships with vendors and contractors for equipment repairs and facility improvements. Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying areas for improvement. Supervise inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished products. Maintain accurate inventory tracking and reconciliation processes. Ensure all shipping and receiving activities comply with food safety and quality standards. Collaborate with procurement and production teams to align material flow with production schedules. Manage packaging operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards. Oversee the selection, maintenance, and optimization of packaging equipment. Work closely with quality assurance teams to maintain product integrity and compliance. Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Develop and oversee logistics strategies to optimize transportation and distribution. Negotiate with carriers and vendors to ensure cost-effective and reliable shipping solutions. Monitor supply chain performance, addressing bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Ensure compliance with transportation and food safety regulations. Lead, mentor, and develop department managers and their teams. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations for direct reports. Promote and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment for all employees. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or 8 years of experience in operations management within a food manufacturing environment. Proven experience overseeing maintenance, shipping & receiving, packaging, and logistics. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, SQF, HACCP). Experience managing budgets, optimizing processes, and leading teams in a production setting. Strong leadership, communication and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to analyze operational data and implement process improvements. Strong understanding of inventory control, logistics, and supply chain management. Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and data analysis tools. The role requires a hands-on leader who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day operations.
