Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our San Francisco office.

Sheppard Mullin is a global Am Law 50 full-service law firm with over 1,200 attorneys across 16 offices worldwide. The San Francisco office currently has approximately 100 attorneys who practice in a variety of areas including Business Litigation, Corporate Transactions, Real Estate, Entertainment, Intellectual Property, and more.

The Real Estate and Land Use team seeks an experienced junior or mid-level litigation associate. With one of the largest, most experienced, and diverse Real Estate, Energy, Land Use & Environmental practices in the country, we offer a diversity and depth of experience that is unrivaled.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

• Litigating land use cases, including under CEQA, the Planning and Zoning Law, the Public Records Act, and state housing laws.
• Litigating real estate cases, including unlawful detainer / eviction proceedings, commercial lease disputes, easement disputes, partitions actions, and quiet title actions , with particular emphasis in Northern California jurisdictions.
• All aspects of the litigation process, including mediation and settlement conferences, administrative records, pleadings, demurrers, written discovery, depositions, summary judgment, trials and writ hearings, post-trial motions, and appeals.
• Taking ownership of projects and working effectively as a member of a team.
• Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Requirements and Details:

• 2-5 years of experience working on a variety of real estate and land use litigation matters.
• Strong academic credentials from top-tier law school.

The pay range for this position is $235,000 to $365,000.
