Breeze Airways is looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data engineering principles and a proven track record of handling complex data projects. Here's what you'll do Develop resilient and performant pipelines that acquire and store data from varied sources Utilize ETL orchestration tools to schedule/plan data pipeline execution Implement and/or research tooling and frameworks for monitoring, alerting and observability Cultivate domain knowledge and become a subject matter expert of Breeze data and data products Implement and/or research data storage solutions and strategies that are highly scalable and performant Design and review conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts Review and occasionally write documentation for data pipelines, ETL processes, and system architectures ensuring it is correct, consistent and useful. Perform, and automate wherever possible, checks to ensure data is complete, accurate, fresh, etc. Perform periodic on call duties, resolving issues when they occur and accepting escalations as needed Proactively identify and perform security related code patches and ensure security best practices are followed. Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in conjunction with Breeze Aviation Group Values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and Excellence Here's what you'll need to be successful Minimum Qualifications ~4-year degree in Computer Science or relevant field or equivalent practical experience ~8+ years relevant job experience, including experience as a Data Engineer, Data Architect or similar role. Leadership role in key projects. ~ Must have authorization to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986 ~ Must be at least 18 years of age ~ High performance orientation, ability to work well under pressure, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility ~ Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills ~ Self-starter must have a positive attitude and strong desire for success ~ Complete projects on time with minimal supervision, ability to work varied hours when necessary to meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications ~ Post-graduate degree in Computer Science or related field, or professional certifications Skills/Talents Strong, In-depth understanding of data systems and database technologies (e.g., Snowflake, DataBricks, Redshift) Possess expertise in the multiple forms of data modeling techniques including at least 2 of the following: 3rd NF, Data Vault, Star and Snowflake Schema and Wide Table Modeling. Expertise in ETL and ELT design, implementation, and frameworks, both existing solutions (e.g., Apache Airflow, AWS Glue) and custom-built solutions. Expertise in SQL and Python Experience buliding multiple data products in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
