Job Title: Senior Project Manager – Public Works Construction

Location: Las Vegas, NV

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: 180,000-225,000 base

Actively are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee complex public sector commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and is experienced working under the regulatory and compliance requirements of public agency contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full project lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and closeout
  • Serve as primary liaison between the company, public clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects ranging from $10M to $50M+
  • Oversee and mentor project engineers, assistant PMs, and field supervision staff
  • Ensure adherence to public contracting requirements, including prevailing wage, certified payroll, and labor compliance
  • Drive project performance to meet cost, schedule, safety, and quality goals
  • Administer project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes
  • Collaborate with estimating during pre-construction and participate in competitive bid reviews
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain positive client relationships

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial construction, with 5+ years focused on public works projects
  • Proven success managing ground-up and renovation projects for public agencies (schools, civic buildings, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of public bidding processes, contract types (e.g., Design-Bid-Build, Lease-Leaseback, CMAR), and public procurement rules
  • Strong working knowledge of California Building Code, DSA, and OSHPD (if applicable)
  • Proficient in project management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or Primavera P6
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • PMP certification or LEED accreditation is a plus
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to project sites
