Job Description

Summary

As a Senior Web Designer & Developer at Geonetric, you’ll create visually engaging websites that strategically support our clients’ goals and audience needs. You'll design concepts for approval in Figma and build sites using atomic design strategy in both our system VS and Opti platforms that use the latest technologies, adhere to industry best practices, and meet usability and WCAG accessibility standards.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

While Geonetric employees might get to work on just about anything, this position primarily:
  • Create modern, inspired design concepts for some of the nations best hospital brands.
  • Consults with clients on iterative website designs.
  • Collaborates cross-team to interpret client needs, develop solutions, and ensure technology alignment.
  • Introduces design innovations, keeps on top of design trends and ensures Geonetric remains at the cutting edge of web design.
  • Proactively shares knowledge with internal and external clients by demoing, blogging, and speaking on design and front-end development.
  • Develops templates utilizing front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Test sites for cross-browser and multi-device capability.
  • Ensures compliance with web standards and WCAG accessibility requirements.
  • Applies responsive design and UX design principles to web design.
  • Designs for usability and download speed.
  • Completes complex work independently while understanding and anticipating impacts, including to adjacent work.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in the discipline, solving unexpected issues, and making decisions. 
  • Manages and defines processes, recommending and executing improvements, efficiencies, and technologies to drive better results. 
  • Develops and executes strategies in collaboration with others, effectively communicating to stakeholders.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, Web Development or related field or equivalent required
  • Typically has a minimum of 5 years’ experience


Professional Skills

  • Strong online design portfolio showcasing both design and development skills required
  • Advanced semantic HTML and CSS skills required
  • Advanced knowledge of web and WCAG accessibility standards required
  • Experience with JavaScript and/or jQuery required
  • Experience in creating responsive design techniques required
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/XD or Figma required
  • Familiarity with SASS experience and or Animate.css preferred
