Conduct sensory panels at Kroger Store Support Center with total process responsibility from review and scheduling through preparation and presentation of samples to writing the final report. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently, and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the division. Responsibilities

• Learn and master the sensory database and software; send out screeners, invitations, and other announcements as needed; write ballots and conduct panels; write reports.
• Follow safe food handling practices in the lab at all times.
• In an accurate and timely manner, prepare all paperwork, computer data, panel supplies, and final reports for taste panels conducted internally.
• Ensure sanitary preparation and maintenance of the panel area prior to, during, and after panels.
• Assist Corporate Food Technology Sensory Scientists with outside panels as needed.
• Physical demands include, but are not limited to, standing continuously throughout the shift, regularly lifting objects up to 50lbs and working in fluctuating temperatures such as in freezers and near ovens
• Process all purchase orders, supply orders and billing for lab supplies as needed.
• Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
• Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to analyze information, form a conclusion and communicate the results
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and learn new aspects of the job quickly
• Excellent attention to detail, with high degree of accuracy and precision
• Adaptable to last-minute changes and shifting priorities
• Ability to complete multiple concurrent assignments
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Desired

• 1 - 2 years Laboratory or food-related experience, especially science-related experience
• Science, chemistry, biology, math, and/or statistics classes
