We are seeking a detail-oriented Test Automation Engineer to join our Transaction Processing and Systems team. This role is responsible for planning, designing, and executing tests to certify new and existing financial transaction products. Working closely with Card Operations, development teams, and quality assurance, this individual will ensure transaction systems meet regulatory and functional requirements using both in-house and industry simulation tools such as FIS OTS (Open Test Solutions) . Key Responsibilities Design, execute, and maintain detailed test plans and concise test scripts for new software features or system enhancements. Define realistic scenarios and test data variations for accurate coverage, particularly in the context of EFT and card-based transaction systems. Perform and coordinate various test cycles, including System Testing , Regression , End-to-End (E2E) , and Network Certifications (Visa, Mastercard). Submit defects to development teams, retest fixes, and track issues to resolution through a structured defect management process. Interact with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), developers, and analysts to refine testing requirements and ensure complete test coverage. Review requirement and design documents; provide feedback to ensure testability and clarity of scope. Manage test libraries, scripts, test environments, and databases to support a range of simulation scenarios. Support alpha, beta, and pilot testing efforts and participate in enhancement planning and release cycles. Assist in documentation updates based on test findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all software corrections are clearly conveyed. Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring mutual understanding of objectives, timelines, and requirements. May assist or contribute to automation framework enhancements and scripting efforts from other QA team members. Minimum Qualifications 4+ years of experience in quality assurance or software testing, ideally in the financial services or payments domain. Strong knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) , test planning strategies, and structured test suite execution. Clear understanding of various testing methodologies and life cycles. Preferred Qualifications Experience using FIS OTS (Open Test Solutions) to simulate transaction types (Visa DPS, Visa SMS Interlink, Visa Net Auth). Hands-on experience with EFT Transaction Simulators that generate and validate ISO 8583 formatted messages. Understanding of ATM/debit routing , card processing logic, and merchant transaction flow. Experience with IBM mainframe systems , including navigation of CICS, MQ , and related host environments. Familiarity with both manual and automated testing practices , and supporting documentation workflows.
