About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President for National Laboratories to oversee the successful stewardship of two U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratories. The role involves maintaining key relationships with the Department of Energy and other government entities, as well as with local, regional, and national leaders in civic, higher education, and business sectors. The Vice President will be responsible for providing expert assistance and resources to support the scientific and operational missions of the Laboratories, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies, and promoting a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. The successful candidate will be a systematic and effective public voice for the connection of science and engineering with public policy and will work to build programs and initiatives that leverage the resources of the University and the Laboratories for cutting-edge research. Applicants for the Vice President position at the company's National Laboratories should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, with a Ph.D. or other advanced degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have a distinguished record of scholarship, significant experience in leading research and administrative functions within a large, complex, research-based enterprise, and a proven track record in managing complex budgets and projects. Experience with government contracts and relations, particularly in the context of the Department of Energy, is essential.
