Job title : Contemporary Musician

Location : Fort Knox, KY 40121, USA

Duties:

• Basic Services: The candidate shall provide music services to the Contemporary Protestant Worship Service.
• The candidate shall attend planning and coordination meetings and provide necessary actionable input for services.
• Instrument and Vocal Musician Services: The candidate shall provide lead instrument (piano, keyboard, guitar) and vocal contemporary Christian music support services.
• The candidate shall perform contemporary-style music.
• The candidate shall provide worship support to include the prelude and postlude music for the special services (Memorial Ceremony, Easter Sunrise, Christmas Eve, etc.), as well as accompaniment of any musical pieces required as part of the program.
• The candidate shall support a memorial ceremony and shall rehearse the scheduled event.
• The candidate shall lead the special music when requested by the chaplain.
• Direct weekly rehearsals and Sunday evening rehearsals before service

Education and qualifications:

• The candidate shall be musically proficient at their specific instrument, proficient in reading music, and possess experience performing in religious worship settings.
• The candidate shall possess sufficient experience playing their specific musical instruments at public worship services.
• Although a specific degree is not mandatory, any credentials pertaining to this position, training, and experience are considered in the award.
• Proven work experience as a musician with a minimum of two years of experience.
• A professional and spiritual understanding of church music, determined by a history of working specifically in the development of musical worship plans.
• Maintain familiarity and competence with all styles of music appropriate with the mission.
