Wabtec is Now Hiring! Mechanical Assembler

Location: Buffalo Grove, IL

Starting Salary : $20.00 per hour

1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM | Monday - Friday

Your Role:

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will perform medium-complexity mechanical assembly work, focusing on assembling various hydraulic and electromechanical lifts and ramps. Your responsibilities will include using blueprints, schematics, wiring lists, and written instructions to assemble and possibly rework complex units. You will operate machines and automatic tools, inspect and test the final assembly, and ensure all installations meet specifications. Keeping your work area clean and orderly is essential, as is reporting any unusual problems to your supervisor. You may also be required to undertake other related duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical studies preferred.
• 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Assembling hydraulic and electromechanical lifts and ramps at various stages of the assembly process, including final assembly.
• Installing moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and testing them for free movement.
• Inspecting components from previous operations.
• Following instructions and pre-established guidelines or schedules to perform job functions.
• Checking, testing, and adjusting parts and mechanics to meet product specifications.
• Working under general supervision, collaborating closely with Test Engineering to develop test plans, analyze test data, and ensure that designs meet functional and performance specifications.
• Preparing design modifications and coordinating engineering efforts with other departments to achieve project milestones.
