COVID VACCINATION REQUIREMENT FOR CANDIDATES SEEKING EMPLOYMENT: PPTNM, as both a healthcare provider and a participant of Medicare/Medicaid, is subject to certain laws, regulations and orders requiring its workforce to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and its variants. Job Summary: Provides effective outreach, delivery, and evaluation of sexuality education programs to specific
community groups and organizations, prioritizing LGBTQ+ and BIPOC young people.
Essential Functions: Delivers high-quality, medically accurate, culturally responsive education programs to various
community groups. Facilitates professional training, HIV education, and youth leadership
programming that increases access to sex education for people in middle Tennessee.
Customizes or develops lesson plans and curricula when appropriate. Maintains fidelity and
implements evidence-based programs (EBP) where required. Conducts outreach to expand
services in designated service areas and assists community organizations in selecting and
delivering appropriate programs.
Lead Responsibilities - 20% Plan, facilitate, and evaluate programs with guidance from the Education Manager, while also
demonstrating a strong foundation in sexual and reproductive health knowledge.
Facilitate and evaluate sexual health training, encompassing HIV Education, Access, and Testing
Training (HEAT Training), as well as professional development.
Collaborate with the Education Manager to empower and guide Education Staff, offering
orientation, training, and leadership in specific training sessions and team meetings.
Contribute to the creation of curriculum, educational materials, and training programs for the
Tennessee Youth Advisory Board and community education initiatives.
Assists with the preparation and maintenance of budgets, data management, and grants.
Attend the yearly Tennessee Department of Health Statewide HIV Conference and monthly
Middle Tennessee Community HIV/AIDS Partnership (CHAP) meetings.
Community Outreach Health Educator Responsibilities (80%): Develop and deliver high-quality, medically accurate, culturally responsive education programs on
sexuality, reproductive health, and Planned Parenthood services to people in the community.
Assist in the development and implementation of the Tennessee Youth Advisory Board through
the facilitation of youth leadership and/or peer education programming for youth in middle
Tennessee. Responsibilities may include establishing relationships with youth; recruiting youth;
monthly meetings (often during evenings or weekends) with youth; facilitating education sessions
and community-based impact projects in partnership with youth; providing support and
recognition to youth; planning, tracking, and completing program evaluation activities, etc.
Build and maintain authentic and reciprocal relationships with community partners, stakeholders
and others invested in young people, with a priority placed on BIPOC and LGBTQ youth
populations.
Serve as a positive and knowledgeable ambassador for PPTNM in the community, building
strong relationships and upholding the organization's values and mission in all interactions.
Represent PPTNM by attending and actively participating in events such as Nashville Pride,
health fairs, and partner organization gatherings.
Coordinate the regional distribution of Empowerment Kits to community partners, ensuring timely
and efficient delivery. Maintain accurate records of condom inventory levels and track distribution
to various partners.
Deliver education to special populations based on community needs assessments and interest,
including incarcerated and previously incarcerated youth and adults in Middle Tennessee in order
to support successful reentry and reduce recidivism.
Prepare and distribute educational and informational materials for education programs and
respond to requests for materials.
Provide monthly reports of education and outreach activities and other data and reporting
requirements, as necessary.
Recruit and manage middle Tennessee condom distribution intern(s) and volunteer(s).
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional
publications, and establishing networks.
Complete administrative tasks, such as tracking program activities, completing data entry,
scheduling, and communicating in a timely manner.

Willing to work weekends and evenings, as needed.
Knowledge of reproductive health and sexuality, HIV prevention preferred.
Commitment to the goals of PPTNM and quality healthcare and education.
Education/Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in health, education, counseling or related area preferred.
Experience: Three to four years of experience as an educator, trainer, and/or working with youth.
Sexual and reproductive health knowledge is required.
Experience with public speaking and health program facilitation preferred.
Experience with outreach, recruitment, and relationship building preferred.
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
License: Ability to travel, primarily local travel is frequent and anticipated to average 15%.
Must have access to a car. Valid driver's license and automobile liability insurance are required.
